YMCA Project Centre and Offices
Refurbishment of the project centre for the Walker YMCA, to provide fully accessible facilities, including new office/reception, IT suite, craft room, teaching kitchen and accessible toilets.
The existing facilities were a dated series of corridors and small dark cellular office spaces, with several internal level changes. We developed proposals for large airy spaces we removed the bars to the windows and replaced with secure glazing units, to provide good day lighting, we eliminated all the internal steps, and built a new toilet block to the rear. The front pavement area was reclaimed from the street, with a simple wall to provide a garden space and a new glazed entrance was installed to give the facility a street presence.
