The practice was approached by a private developer to further their existing proposals for this corner site in Roker, Sunderland. The site is within the conservation area and the planners insisted on a traditional approach to ending the run of Victorian terraced town houses.
The development consists of 8 spacious town houses over 3 and 4 floors, built in highly insulated timber frame construction, with an exterior of imperial brickwork and stone. The houses take advantage of solar energy with solar collectors to the rear, and have underfloor heating throughout.
Status: Phase 1 Complete Nov 2009. Phase 2 under construction.
