Whitley Bay Film Festival

For many years Whitley Bay was a town without a cinema, and as such a number of local residents took it upon themselves to stage an annual Independent Film Festival, in various ambitious and quirky locations across the town. At the Lighthouse, inside the disused Spanish City Dome, the Rendezvous Cafe, the Football Ground, even on the beach between tides. Even winning a Journal Culture Award. Harland Architecture has been proud to be involved with and support The Whitley Bay Film Festival over several years since its inception in 2010. No longer an active  Steering Group member, we are still pleased to support where we can. Whether that is liaising with the local authority over fire strategies, or drafting seating plans, erecting lighting or site decorations. Even serving the popcorn.
