Practice

Harland Architecture is an Architectural practice, based in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, and founded in April 2007, by Architect Dave Harland. We provide  Architectural services across the North East, primarily in North Tyneside, Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and County Durham. We work extensively, but not exclusively, on small and medium sized residential properties. New build, as well as re-modelling and extending properties. We provide design advice and will guide your project from Inception, through Planning Permission and Building Control. We can also introduce you to reliable and trusted tradesmen and building contractors, obtain tenders on your behalf and guide the works on site.

Since 2007 the practice has consistently delivered a number of finely crafted, projects across our beloved North East, whilst enjoying the freedom to explore diverse interests in design, graphics, art and cinematography. We are in an enviable position where we choose to take on projects that interest and challenge us most, whether that is from a design or budget point of view. If you have something a little bit different you’d like us to expolore… give us a call.

The practice is small, but this is no reflection on our ambition. We pull in external resources and expertise, as and when they are required, from consultants and colleagues we know and trust. Modern working techniques mean that a network of individuals and small companies can function just as effectively as a large organisation.

We have a broad knowledge of transferable architectural experience across several sectors, gained over many years in private practice. A long Commercial and Education background and a good understanding of Hospitality and Residential markets. We are, always keen to further develop and strengthen our working links with Artists across the region.

We have established many close links over the years, with a raft of other professionals and consultants, who we are glad to recommend, including Structural Engineers, Services Engineers, Graphic Designers, Web Designers, Film Makers, Planning Consultants, Artists, Horticulturists, Printers, Visualisers and Photographers.
